Character's name: Wes is his first name, but he goes by Mr. Wrench, his hitman alias
Age: 37
Canon: Fargo (tv series)
Canon Point: Episode 6, in the white out before he's shot

Canon Information: Fargo wikia Also stating I don't know why they have his last name as Wrench as that's literally just his hitman name, Mr. Wrench. They've only given out his first name by way of credits in the second season.

Personality: Mr. Wrench is a quiet foreboding presence. What he doesn't say with words, he can with his body, whether by facial expression or through his use of ASL (American Sign Language). Being deaf, completely or just about, Wrench can read lips a little, but chooses not to talk himself. No doubt he can speak, but whether he can speak well enough to engage in conversation is not known, so regardless of if people know ASL, he uses it in conversation. Because of his size, being six feet three inches tall, and not a slight man, he'll use that to his advantage and be intimidating through physical presence alone. The language barrier between him and his victims can be even more so because of it, especially when his partner in crime and interpreter doesn't translate what he 'says' to them.

While he comes off as unpleasant and angry, he's more than that, though it helps to appear disgruntled and hard faced for his job. He's very watchful, taking in things while his partner and translator, Mr. Numbers, does all the real talking. Typically he seems to be the muscle of the two of them, standing just behind or beside Numbers and is there in case shit gets real, carrying heavy equipment, the one who gets more physical with the people they're dealing with for interrogations and such. Not that his partner doesn't do some physical work either, he just tends to do more of the talking.

As he doesn't speak, and has limited lip reading abilities, Wrench still doesn't let it hold him back in trying to ask his own questions. Even if they're not always taken seriously by his partner, most of the time he doesn't relay them to the folks they're questioning, or if he does he'll simplify it down from what Wrench asked originally. He tends to be a bit outlandish at times, especially with questions, though it does seem as if he does so at the expense of either amusing or frustrating Numbers. At one point they're trying to find a person who killed someone who had relations with the Fargo syndicate and he'd been stabbed in the back of the head, so Wrench, being the curious fellow he is, wanted to know the position he'd been in when he was stabbed. He'd been with a prostitute at the time, and he asks Numbers to ask what position was he fucking the prostitute in when it occurred, to which he more or less gets a reply of 'why is that important' from his partner. This has him signing that for all they know the guy could have been banging prostitutes on a boat and a swordfish could have jumped out of the water and into the boat and landed on his head, stabbing him.

So yeah, he likes getting details and making sure they have all the facts before doing stuff. He gets a bit demanding and frustrated if they don't. There's another instance later on where he gets into a bit of a tiff with his partner about making sure they get an admission out of someone before they kill them, as they need to be sure they were really at fault. He doesn't let up until they've agreed to do so. So while he may be a hitman, and done some pretty bad shit, he doesn't like just offing anyone without making sure they're the one at fault or the one they're looking for. Of course sometimes collateral damage happens and they need to get rid of people to keep shit wrapped up.

If there is anything that shows a slightly different side to Mr. Wrench it would be little things, a hand held up to stop someone from getting too close to him and his partner. The way he antagonizes Lester in at his work, seemingly to amuse his partner, as Lester obviously doesn't understand what he's signing at him, if not to put the insurance sales man more on edge. The anger he directs at Lester when they have him at their mercy in the jail cell, because the little punk had hurt his partner and of course the whole bit with Deputy Solverson in the hospital. Till then it wasn't completely clear perhaps how close or important Mr. Numbers was to Wrench and when Molly informs him that he was dead, it hits him pretty hard. He tears up, sheds that single manly tear, refuses to speak further to her after she gives him a small lecture and again brings up Number's death. Later on when Malvo visits he reacts very violently to being told that Number's throat had been cut open. Much more than just a work partner, as in the series second season it's revealed the two were childhood friends. They'd been together for quite a while and it's a big loss for him for many reasons.

Tell us a little about how your character will relate to this game's environment: He'll definitely be pretty confused at being in a place like this and a fish out of water, but at the same time he's a hitman so he's got plenty of skills that could be useful to himself and potentially others. His biggest hangup will probably be communication, when he's not using the network that is. Being deaf and speaking entirely in ASL he'll have to utilize his phone's text function even in person. He's got minor lip reading capabilities so that'll be a hold up too. Everyone texting in person haha.

Another struggle will be not having his partner around, but he'll manage without him, it'll just be strange for him. Definitely won't have any trouble killing people if he has to, considering his job.
